The Combudo Games is an all-round Budo competition, with an emphasis on etiquette, fair play and good sportsmanship. The format is open to all styles of martial arts & MMA. Safety is paramount, and the matches will always be stopped if there is any doubt in the competitor's ability to defend themselves.
The Games are designed to encourage students to compete in a friendly, safe but challenging format. The player may compete up to a maximum of 3 time in one day. All points accumilated are added up and put on the Combudo ratings. All players get 1 point minimum to enter.
All competitors must abide by the Combudo Code of Etiquette and Conduct.
Match Times:
A-Class 3 x 4 mins
B-Class 3 x 3 mins
C-Class 1 x 4 mins
Weight Divisions:
Physical Index = Body Weight in kg + Height in cm.
230 - 240 - 250 - 260 (example: 80kg + 180cm = 260)
Competition Arena:
Tatami style safety flooring.
5 Rope MMA Ring.
Attire:
Combudo MMA approved Lycra Shorts, Board Style Shorts, Muaythai/K1 Shorts or Gi (Karate, Judo or Jujitsu style).
Combudo MMA approved Rash Guards must be worn.
Combudo MMA approved MMA Gloves.
Combudo MMA approved Shin & Insteps.
Combudo MMA approved Knee pads
Groin guard.
Mouth guard.

Judgement:
The match is won by knockdown (5 seconds) TKO (referee stoppage) or submission (tap out).
If the match goes the distance then it is automatically a draw.
Points:
The Combudo Games is a league based format.
There are 3 types of points awarded:
Win by:
KO = 3pts
TKO = 3pts
Submission = 3pts
Draw = 2pts
Loss = 1pt
Techniques Allowed:
· Punches
· Knees
· Kicks
· Clinch, Grips, Throws and Takedowns.
· Newaza = Arm locks - Shime waza - Straight Leg Locks.
· Punches and Knees to body on the ground only.
Fouls:
· Head strikes.
· Elbows.
· Neck Cranks.
· Heel hooks, and any rotation of the legs.
· Spiking (dropping opponent on head).
· Biting, gouging and fish hooking.
· Striking to the joints or throat. .
Combudo Code of Etiquette and Conduct:
All competitors must wear a clean approved attire with no rips or holes. School/style and sponsers logo's are allowed.
When the competitors step on to the Tatami they must bow, then sit in seiza position until the chief referee calls them to the area. They will then bow to the referee, then to the officials and finally to each other. When the referee calls "Kamae-te hajime" they will then commence. At the end of the match they will then follow the same sequence as the start, but always never showing there back to there opponent. The Combudo MMA Challenge is conducted in the true spirit of Budo with respect and sportsmanship at all times.
